Mitzi (Miura) Flora

Lowellville - Mitsuko "Mitzi" Flora, 81 of Lowellville, died Wednesday afternoon, May 18, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.

Mitzi was born July 19, 1934 in Fukuoka, Japan.

Mitzi met her husband, Theodore Flora, while he was serving in the United States Navy in Japan and they were married March 15, 1965. In 1966 Mitzi, along with their daughter Christina, accompanied Theodore to Long Beach, California and in 1967 they made their home in Lowellville. Three years later, on August 28, 1970, Mitzi became a proud citizen of the United States.

Mitzi was a devoted homemaker. She took pleasure in cooking for her family and friends and was famous for her egg rolls. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing, coloring and collectables. She was a lover of animals and cherished her time with her pets. Her greatest love was her role as a mother and grandmother. She attended all her children's and grandchildren's school and sporting events. She was also a mother and grandmother to all of the neighborhood kids.

Mitzi leaves her husband of 51 years, Theodore; three daughters, Christina (Keith) Peterson of Lowellville, Nancy (Joseph) Rouget of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Cynthia (Anthony) Innocenzi of New Castle, PA; eleven grandchildren, Andrew (Heather) Peterson, Jeffrey (Krysta) Peterson, Juli (Robert) Slaven, Kathy (Dooley) Davis, Victoria, Frank, and Vincent Innocenzi, Giovanna and Francesca Bartolone, and Sophia and Vivianna Rouget; and five great-grandchildren, Madisyn and Nickolas Peterson, Avery and Arianna Davis, and Scarlett Slaven.

Mitzi was preceded in death by an infant son.

A memorial services will be held Wednesday at 6:00 PM. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
