Yolanda Joan Schenker

Yolanda Joan Schenker, 79 Poland- Yolanda Joan Schenker, 79, of 1865 Lynn Mar Ave., died Sunday afternoon at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Yolanda was born May 9, 1927 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Bartholomew and Mary Apicelli. She lived in New Castle before coming to Poland in 1961. She was a 1945 graduate of New Castle High School and was a member of St. Markâa�a��s Lutheran Church in Boardman for over 45 years. Yolanda loved her cat Alex, and enjoyed shopping, gardening and reading. She was a wonderful loving, mother, wife and homemaker who had a strong will to live and after 8 years, lost her courageous battle with cancer. Her husband, Michael Adolf Schenker, Jr., whom she married July 18, 1953, died December 2001. She leaves two daughters, Arlene Warner of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Anita Schenker with whom she made her home; and two brothers, Alfred Apicelli of Virginia and Donald Apicelli of New Castle, Pennsylvania. Besides her parents and husband, Yolanda was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Argiro. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 7:00 PM at St. Markâa�a��s Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the church. Memorial contributions maybe made to the St. Markâa�a��s Building Fund, 280 Mill Creek Drive, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
