Poland - Xiaoli Li, 66, formerly of Chongqing, China, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, February 8, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital’s Emergency Room.
Born on December 29, 1958, in Chongqing, China, Xiaoli was the daughter of Xing Li and Zhengzhi Hu. She moved to the United States on October 8, 2009 and made a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Xiaoli was a graduate of college in China where she earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. Though her career was rooted in engineering, her true passion was cooking. Xiaoli loved preparing meals for family and friends and enjoyed sharing her food with others. She ran her own food service truck where she found joy in meeting and engaging with the many people who came across her path.
A member of Akron Chinese Christian Church and the Youngstown Chinese Christian Church. Xiaoli also enjoyed being part of The Pittsburgh Xiaobo Waist Drum Dance. She had a green thumb, spending much of her time tending to her garden of flowers and vegetables. Music was another of her loves and she found peace and joy in playing the piano.
Xiaoli was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She treasured her family deeply and cherished the moments spent with her loved ones. Xiaoli was also an avid traveler and found joy in meeting new people during her journeys.
She is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Jeffrey L. Hoffman, whom she married on September 9, 2008; her daughter, Qian Xu of Poland; stepson Jesse L. (Tiffany) Hoffman of Boardman; stepdaughter Corrin R. (Doug Kisamore) Hoffman of Diamond, OH; six grandchildren, Xinyi Hu and Brielle Gentile of Poland, Victoria Hoffman, Marceline Hoffman, Izana Hoffman, and Alexander Hoffman of Boardman; her brother, Yeibei Li of China; two sisters, Beija Li of China and ShanShan (Eric) Hunter of Parkville, MD.
Xiaoli was preceded in death by her mother.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main Street in Poland. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
