Wilma M. Tibbetts, 84, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Tibbetts was born May 11, 1931 in Youngstown, a daughter of Andy and Anna Parohnovy Martin.
A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of East High School. Mrs. Tibbetts previously worked for McKelvey Company as a free lance artist, Standard Slag and BFI Company, working as an executive secretary for both companies, and retired from the accounting department of Lafarge Company.
She was a longtime member of First Baptist Temple and a member of its choir. Her favorite pastimes were reading history and mystery books, doing needlework, painting, and sketching.
Her husband, Willard "Barney" Tibbetts, preceded her in death on March 14, 1972. Wilma is survived by her son, David Tibbetts of Youngstown; daughter, Janice "JJ" Lee of Erie, PA; four grandchildren, Rev. Scott (Kelly) Lee of Wallingford, PA, Bryan (Nicole) Lee of Erie, PA, and Mason and Madison Tibbetts of Youngstown; and a great-grandchild, Kenzie Lee of Erie, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Andy Martin; and four sisters, Margaret Perusek, Anne Sarver, Helen Andres, and Mary Kavesky.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., where a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with her grandson, Rev. Scott R. Lee officiating.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406.
