Wilma A. LaVogue

Poland - Wilma A. LaVogue, 72, of Poland, died December 29, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Mrs. LaVogue was born February 10, 1938 in Youngstown, a daughter of Joseph and Anna Didek Sinowski.

She was a 1956 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a secretary at Youngstown Sheet and Tube. After the passing of her husband, she took over the family business as President of Machine Design Service.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Poland. Mrs. LaVogue was a former member of the Fonderlac Country Club, where she enjoyed golfing in the Ladies Golf League. She also enjoyed meeting monthly with her Gourmet Cooking Club, where her and her close friends would rotate hosting a gourmet dinner at their homes. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren who were her life and attending their sporting events, dance recitals, and piano recitals.

Her husband, Randall W. LaVogue, whom she married January 17, 1961, died October 16, 1978. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Jennifer (Steve) Bannon of Poland and Deborah (Charles) Masluk of Poland; sister, Margaret Murray of Poland; two brothers, Joseph (Mary) Sinowski of North Lima and Thomas (Cathy) Sinowski of Marietta, GA; and her five grandchildren, John and Stephen Bannon, Abigail, Madeline, and Emily Masluk.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two step-sons, Chip and Rick LaVogue.

The family will be having private calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Parish. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
