Willis R. Stanley, 76 Meadville, PA- Willis R. Stanley, of 865 Thurston Road, formerly of Poland died early Saturday morning at his residence. He was born in Poland Township, Ohio December 23, 1928, a son of Willis R. and Frances B. Schmidt Stanley. Mr. Stanley was a 1946 graduate of Poland Seminary High School. He was a worked for Erie Lackawana Conrail for 31 years, retiring in 1984. He was a Southern Light Lodge F& AM #725 Breezeport, New York, Royal Arch Lodge F&AM #261 Horseheads, Ny. He was of the Eastern Star and the Southern Tier Royal and Selected Masters. Mr. Stanley was a life member of the Marine Corp League detachment #446, Meadville VFW Post 2006, Amex Legion Meadville Post #111, Cryptic Mason Council #16 in Elmyra, Ny, and F.O.E. 3429 Meadville. He was past member of BPOE, Lisbon Kiwanis, Lowellville Rod and Gun Club, where served on various committees, Lowellville Presbyterian Church, and the Park Congregational Church in Meadville. He was past explorer leader with BSA Mahoning Valley Council and was a member of the TCU. Mr. Stanley was a Corporal in the United States Marines, having served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He leaves, his wife the former Arlene Doerr, whom he married August 26,1951; one daughter, Beverly Mickle of Magee, MS; two sons, Robert (Nancy) Stanley of West Lake, OH and Bruce (Karen) Stanley of Canandiagua, NY; one sister, Florence Brayer of Struthers; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Liggett, Dorothy Stanley, and Frances Pavlov. Funeral services will be Wednesday 11AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 PM and Wednesday 10:00-10:45 AM at the funeral home. There will be Masonic services Tuesday 7:45 PM In lieu of flowers contributions in the name of Willis R.
