Willis L. "Barney" Frantz

August 18, 1922 — May 28, 2016

Youngstown - Willis L "Barney" Frantz, 93, died May 28, 2016 in St. Elizabeth Heath Center. He was born August 18, 1922 in Ubly, MI, son of the late William and Elizabeth Johnson Frantz.

Willis proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was employed as a truck driver for Interstate Motor Freight for 25 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Christ our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, the Tyler Masonic Lodge #317 in Cass City, Michigan, the Poland Masonic Breakfast Club and VFW Post #3538.

He leaves his daughter, Carol Ann (Joseph) Sobnosky of Waldorf, MD; son, Karl Frantz of Masury, OH and four grandchildren, Joseph V. Sobnosky IV, Jeremi Frantz, Jason Frantz and Andrew Frantz.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Tressa Frantz, Sisters, Gretta Frantz, Edna Nelson, Norene Krug and Nellie Clensy; brothers, Leonard, Ellwood, Douglas, Fredrick and Harold Frantz; and his daughter-in-law, Patricia Frantz.

A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11am at Christ our Savior Parish at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 250 N. Bridge St. Struthers with the Rev. Fr. Bernard Gaeta as Celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10-11am at the church. The family would like to invite those in attendance to a luncheon, immediately following Mass, at the Becker Family Center, 10 Spring St. in Struthers.

The family asks that any donations be made to Park Vista Retirement Center, 1216 5th Ave. Youngstown, OH 44504.

The Davidson-Becker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
