William "Bill" M. Goldman

William "Bill" M. Goldman, 92, departed this life Thursday, February 8, 2018.

Bill was born on March 21, 1925 to Morris H. Goldman and Mary (Mound) Goldman.

He grew up in Struthers, graduating from Struthers High School.

Bill served his country during WWII as a Seabee with the U.S. Navy, serving 8 years.

He attended Ohio State University, Youngstown College and graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in Civil Engineering.

In February of 1949, he married Grace Burch of Struthers, a union lasting 67 years and 11 months.

Bill worked as a Licensed Civil Engineer and Licensed Surveyor. Beyond his private practice, he served as Assistant City Engineer, City Engineer, and Director of Public Works for Youngstown. He was also City Engineer for Sharon, Pennsylvania, Village Engineer for Poland and State Director of Transportation for District 4. He also served as the City Building Inspector for Seabrook, Texas and City Engineer in Garden City, Michigan, and retired as Director of Public Works for Morgantown, West Virginia.

After retirement, he lived in Morgantown, West Virginia, The Villages in Florida, and returned to Poland. In recent years, he and Grace lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and then returned and purchased a home in Clingan Crossing in Struthers.

Bill was a former member of the Struthers Presbyterian Church and joined the Poland Presbyterian Church in 1961. He is a past member of the Poland Volunteer Fire Department and the Poland Rotary. He was active in the Boy Scouts and Mahoning County 4-H program.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Grace and his youngest daughter Lisa Goldman.

He leaves his sister, Rosemary Hanline of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; his son, Brian (Marilyn) Goldman of La Marque, Texas; a daughter, Beth (Ken) Miller of Ashtabula, Ohio; 4 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Services will be announced and held at a later date.
