William R. Zimmerman, 90
SALEM - Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home for William R. Zimmerman, 90, formerly of Buena Vista in Boardman. He passed away Sunday at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Mr. Zimmerman was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Salem, a son of Michael and Sarah Tischler Zimmerman. He had worked for Ohio Edison in the Steam Heat Plant in Youngstown.
Bill enjoyed bowling and golfing and most of all spending time with his family. He attended the Greenford Evangelical Lutheran Church.
His wife, the former Mary J. Aaron, whom he married June 21, 1952, died Aug. 23, 2012.
Surviving him are his children, Kimberly A. (Mark) Best of Salem, Terry (Frank) Manchi of Burgaw, N.C. and Jerry Zimmerman of Struthers; grandchildren Jeff (Kandace) Best, Kelly Best and Melinda (Bryan) Gillen. Also, a great grandson, Bryan.
Preceding him in death, besides his wife and parents, are two infant sons, Mark and Kirk Zimmerman.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m., both at the funeral home, 8536 Market St., Boardman.
