Campbell - William Stephen Vrabel, 84, died September 23, 2018 at Maplecrest Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Vrabel was born June 21, 1934 in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Nancy Kennedy Vrabel.
Bill was a 1952 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. He was the Fire Chief for City of Campbell for 25 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War.
Bill was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell.
He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed bowling and golfing.
Bill is survived by his wife, the former, Sandra Zuber, whom he married, Feb. 13, 1971; two daughters, Leigh Anne (Dean) Focareta of Pittsburgh, PA and Sandra Leigh (Alan) Carroll of Madison, OH; one sister, Patricia Vrabel of Tacoma Park, MD; one brother, Gerald (Norma) Vrabel of TX; four granddaughters, Emily Alyssa Carroll, Allison Rebecca Carroll, Evangelina Grace Carroll, and Doria Focareta; and one grandson, Thomas Patrick Carroll.
Besides his parents, Bill preceded in death by one sister, Alma McCullion; and two brothers, Joseph and Kenneth Vrabel.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland.
There will be no funeral services.
