William H. Smith Jr

Lowellville - William H. Smith Jr., 80, died Wednesday evening, July 23, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Smith was born February 15, 1934 in Branchton, Butler County, PA, a son of William and Catherine Rider Smith and came to Lowellville in 1955.
Mr. Smith worked as a furnace operator for Easco Aluminum for 42 years, retiring in 1995. A United States Army Veteran, Mr. Smith served during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until being honorably discharged in 1954.
Bill was a member of St. Lucy Club and in his free time enjoyed working on his cars, taking care of his yard, and watching baseball.
His wife, the former Anna Marie Hamilton, whom he married December 15, 1956, died January 9, 1987. He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Nick) Mamula of Lowellville with whom Bill lived with; son, Ernest (Diana) Smith of Lowellville; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Lance) Anderson of Struthers and Cora Smith of Lowellville; and a great granddaughter, Cassidy Smith.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Snow and Alice Mae Baughman; and a brother, David Smith.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 6 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville, where family and friends will be received Monday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Lowellville Cemetery.
