William A. Northall âa�" 87 LOWELLVILLE --William A. Northall, 87, entered into eternal life on Thursday morning, to join his wife, Virginia, of 66 years. Mr. Northall was born January 20, 1920 in Youngstown, a son of Albert and Mary German Northall, and was a lifelong area resident. He retired from Poland School District in 1982 where he drove school bus for over 20 years and was the Head Custodian of Poland Seminary High School. He was affectionately known as âa�A"Northâa�A� and touched many students with his mentoring and caring. He worked for Sharon Steel as a pipefiter, for twenty years, and also worked for Boohers gas station in Struthers. Mr. Northall was a charter member of Fairview Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Usher, and a current member of the Christ Community Church in Campbell. He was a 50-year plus member of the Poland Masonic Lodge #766 F.& A.M. and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite of the Valley of Youngstown, where he was a Lieutenant of the escorts and received the Meritorious Service award in 2000. He was a member of the Lowellville Rod and Gun Club, an avid member of the Duck and Dive Square dance club, and a Boy Scout Leader. He coached the Poland Fireman little league, Poland Kiwanis pony league, Tri-T Teener League and class B baseball teams. He was also an advisor for the Poland Saddle Pals 4-H Club, a member of the Mahoning County Mounted Police. He was an avid horse lover and owned, rode and boarded horses for most of his life. He also bred and raised Beagles and competed in local field trials. His wife the former Virginia Smith whom he married July 20, 1940, entered into her eternal life on January 8, 2007. He is survived by one daughter Rebecca (Dan) Mottram of Lowellville; one son, Roger (Sue) Northall of Champion; four grandchildren, Gretchen Dodrill, David Mottram, Mark (Brittney) Northall, Amy (Dan) Bondi; six great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Tori; Joey; Laini, Joshy and Cheyenne, and one sister, Dorothy Simcox Brumbaugh, of New Springfield. His greatest love in life was his family. He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Family and friends may call Monday from 4-8 pm at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Masonic service will be held Monday evening at 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am where friends may call from 9:30 âa�" 10:15 am.
