William E. Miner, 76 Struthers- William Edmund Miner, 76, of 100 E. Washington Street died at his residence Tuesday morning. Mr. Miner was born November 8, 1928 in Struthers a son of Stephen and Anna Granchie Miner and was a life long resident. He was a 1947 graduate of Struthers High School. He was a supervisor in the Youngstown Sheet and Tube and LTV, retiring in 1985 after nearly thirty-eight years. He then worked for Nemenz Foodland and was a dispatcher for the Struthers Police Department. Mr. Miner was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church of Struthers and was a member of VFW 3538 where he served as Quartermaster for over ten years. He leaves two sons, Larry (Pam) Miner and Joseph (Jill) Miner both of Youngstown; a brother, Stephen (Barbara) Miner of Struthers and five grandchildren, Larry Miner II, William Miner, Kalah Miner, Philip Miner and Joey Miner. A brother Andrew Miner is deceased. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. William Petrunak at 10:00 AM Friday in Holy Trinity Church. A committal service will be held at a later date with VFW 3538 providing military honors and a flag presentation ceremony by the U.S Army. The family requests that material tributes be made in the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association, Memorial and Honors Program P.O.Box 1132, Fairfax, VA.
