Youngstown- William Thomas McCleery Jr., 59, of 464 Drake Ave., died Tuesday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a 5 year illness. Mr. McCleery also known as Bill was born November 16, 1945 in Youngstown, a son of William Sr., and Catherine Weber McCleery. He was a life-long resident of Youngstown. Bill was a 1965 graduate of The Rayen School Bill and worked at Passarelli Brothers in Youngstown for over 20 years. He then worked at Gold Star Auto Sales in Struthers for 10 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and a former member of St. Edwards Church. He was a member of the former Moose Club on South Ave and the Eagles on the Westside. For over 26 years Bill and his wife Pat were Maintenance Supervisors for the Canfield Fair. He enjoyed racing and actively participated in Canfield Auto Racing and The Sharon Speed Way. Besides his mother at home, Bill leaves his wife, the former Patricia Sellers whom he married May 24, 1969; four daughters, Danette (Michael) Bailey of Ravenna, Renee (Dave) Wanzor of Columbiana, Jeanette (Duane) McMahon of Barberton and Catherine (Travis) Green with whom he lived; three sons, William (Lori) Welsh of Columbiana, Lester (Tina) Welsh of Youngstown and Carl (Jody) Seabolt of Campbell; twenty-two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Bill was preceded in death by his father and two sons, Jimmy and Richard McCleery and one sister Doris Dawson. Funeral services will be Friday 9:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
