"Together Again"
Boardman - William B. Kraynak, Sr., 91, of Boardman, formerly of Poland, died Sunday morning, September 26, 2010 at the Greenbriar.
Mr. Kraynak was born February 3, 1919 in Campbell, a son of Daniel and Ann Toman Kraynak.
Mr. Kraynak worked as a crane man for Youngstown Sheet and Tube/LTV for over 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II.
Mr. Kraynak was a member of Holy Family Parish in Poland, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Poland K of C, Poland Samaritan Club, and the Jednota Lodge.
His wife, the former Ann M. Seman, whom he married October 11, 1947, died August 22, 2006. He leaves two daughters, Barbara (James) Geller of Boardman and Kathy (Donald) Hoffman of New Springfield; three sons, Rev. William B. Kraynak, Jr. of Canton, Robert (Linda) Kraynak of Howland, and Richard (Claire) Kraynak of Cincinnati; a sister-in-law, Margaret Sobnosky of Girard; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cyril and Raymond Kraynak; stepbrother, Frank Matasic; and three sisters, Mary Richnafsky, Anna Stana, and Rose Thurik.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish with the Rev. William B. Kraynak, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the Mass.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mr. Kraynak's name to Holy Family Parish or the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Mr. Kraynak's family would like to express their appreciation and thank the caregivers of the Greenbriar who took excellent care of him for the past eight years.
