William Hitter

William âa�A"Billâa�A� Hitter âa�" 89 COLUMBIANA âa�" William âa�A"Billâa�A� Hitter, 89 of 116 Hawkins Lane, died early Sunday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mr. Hitter was born October 23, 1917 in Youngstown a son of Martin and Mary Dietrich Hitter. He was a graduate of Scienceville High School, and attended the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Youngstown. Mr. Hitter was a WWII Army Veteran. He worked at General Fireproofing for over thirty years, retiring in 1983. He is survived by his wife the former Shirley Haller whom he married June of 1942, one daughter, Kathy (Bob) Weamer of Beaverdam VA., one sister, Marie Weaver of Salem OR., two grandchildren, Laura (Charles) Coe; Cyndi (Matt) Pomeroy, and five great-grandchildren, Holden Murphy, Brianna Coe, Alex Coe, Rachael Pomeroy, and Joshua Pomeroy. Besides his parents, Mr. Hitter is preceded in death by one son, David Hitter, one sister, Hilda Longstreet, and two brothers, George and Martin Hitter. There will be a Memorial service Thursday evening at 6:00 pm, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, where family and friends may call from 5:00 âa�" 6:00 pm.
