William Eugene Harker, 86 Poland- William Eugene Harker, 86, of 8098 North Lima Road, died Friday morning at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mr. Harker was born July 18, 1918 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, a son of Harry A. and Maude Stewart Harker. He was raised in Ringold, Pennsylvania and came to this area after graduating from of Punxsutawney High School in 1936. Mr. Harker was employed by the United Steel Company, Ohio Works for over 40 years, retiring in 1980 from the Payroll Department. Mr. Harker was a member of the Brownlee Woods Presbyterian Church, Sulgrave Lodge F&AM #696 where he received the 60 year award, and a member of the Senior Bowling League at Camelot Lanes. An avid golfer and Atlanta Braves fan, Mr. Harker also enjoyed trapping and deer hunting. His wife the former Grace M. Hall whom he married June 20, 1947, died March 3rd of this year. He leaves his son and daughter-in-law William H. and Twila Harker of Poland and two grandchildren, Alicia and Ian Harker. Besides his wife and parents, one brother Henry Harker and one sister Marion Scott preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where friends may call Monday, from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
