Youngstown- William Hardman, 85, of Youngstown, OH, passed away Saturday morning at Beeghly Oaks.
William was born July 7, 1926 in Walton, WV, a son of Zell and Lucinda Jones Hardman.
He moved to the area in 1950 from West Virginia.
William worked as a railroad car repairman at Youngstown Sheet and Tube and later LTV, retiring in 1981 after 29 years of service
.He was a member of the Church of Christ in Struthers and was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Philippines and Japan during WWII.
William is survived by his wife, the former Charmayne "Sherry" Tranick, whom he married July 18,1970; two brother and sister-in-laws, Roe(Jeff) Heckman of Boardman,OH and Richard(Margi) Tranick of Hubbard,OH; several nieces and nephews, especially Stephanie and Kimberly Heckman of Boardman, OH; and several grand-nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by fours sisters, Melissa Ruley, Maria Long, Louise Kerby, Gusta Taylor; and three brothers, Harold, Hubert and Richard Hardman.
Services will be held Monday, 7:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland with Minister Dean Miller officiating. Friends may call Monday from 6:00-6:45 PM at the funeral home.
Visitation will also be held Tuesday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Mausoleum at Sunset Memory Gardens in Parkersburg, WV.
