Struthers - William R. Denton, 90, of Struthers, died late Sunday evening, November 16, 2014, at his residence.
William was born November 5, 1924 in Enon Valley, PA, a son of Marvin Lloyd and Grace Hope Denton. He was raised in Youngstown and moved to Struthers in 1950.
A 1943 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, William enlisted in the United States Army during WW II and served until 1946. Upon his return from the Army, William was employed at Republic Rubber. He retired in 1986 after 36 years of service.
He leaves his wife of 68 years, the former Eleanor Lilley, whom he married September 14, 1946; two sons, James (Rita) Denton of Morgantown, WV and David (Patricia) Denton of Struthers; three grandchildren, David (Lisa) Denton of Canfield, Brian (Christina) Denton of Poland, and Katie Denton of Morgantown, WV; and one great grandson, Crew.
Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Bosley.
There are no services of calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
