Wayne O. Burkey, 83 Lowellville- Wayne O. Burkey, 83 of 333 W. Wood Street, died Sunday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mr. Burkey was born May 6, 1920 in Lowellville, a son of Jacob and Sidna Pollen Burkey. He was a life-long resident of Lowellville. He was a 1938 graduate of Lowellville High School and was a Steelworker for the Youngstown Sheet & Tube and later LTV. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during World War II. He attended the Lowellville Methodist Church. He is survived by a nephew Paul Burkey; two nieces Kathleen and Diane Burkey; five great-nieces, Misty Koletich, Kristy Boyles, Heather Cozart, Richelle McMichaels and Colleen Christy; one great-nephew, Kevin Burkey and several great-great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents four brothers, Dale, Eugene, Walter and Sylvester Burkey, three sisters, Cleo Lind, Mable Linginger and Harriet Schreckenghost and one great-nephew Robby Burkey preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville where friends may call from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m.
