Boardman - Wanda J. Wiff, 94, of Boardman, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Briarfield Nursing Facility. She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Howard F. Wiff.
Wanda was born June 27, 1929 in Mingo Junction, OH, daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Arnold) Chorjel .
She was a 1948 graduate of South High School. She met her high school sweetheart, Howard, and they were married on September 2, 1949. They welcomed their pride and joy in 1950, their daughter Debbie. As time went on they were blessed with their three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Wanda worked as sales representative for Pot and Pan Tree and the Children's Loft. She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. You could often find her with a book in her hands. She was never picky about the genre's she read, just as long as there was a good story written on the pages. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and baking. Above all, she enjoyed being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her daughter, Debbie (John) Conti of Boardman, OH; three grandchildren, John Conti, Jr., Jodi (Harry) Shood and Jennifer (Jon) Trolio; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Audrey Heineman.
In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by sister, Carole Verus, sister, Helen Stahl and brother, Edward Chorjel.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Dr., Youngstown, OH 44512 where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
