Wanda Gayle Ramsey

POLAND - Wanda Gayle Ramsey, 87, of Poland, died Friday, March 20, 2009 at the Sunrise Assisted Living with her son at her side. Mrs. Ramsey was born February 23, 1922 in Youngstown, a daughter of Wade and Stella Jones. She was a 1940 graduate of South High School. Mrs. Ramsey was a life long member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was actively involved with several church committees and headed up the church bazaar for many years. She also worked for the Youngstown Board of Education as a secretary and was a 30 member of the local Spoof Club. Her husband, Edward R. Ramsey, whom she married September 12, 1952, died March 27, 2003. She is survived by one daughter, Cathy Mohr of San Diego, CA; one son, Scott Ramsey of Fredstead, St Croix, USVI; a son-in-law, Gary Mohr of Hudson; and three granddaughters, Kristin, Stephanie and Kelsey Mohr. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Betty (Tom) Walker and Marge (Lou) Johnston. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 1-2 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Stephen T. Sparling officiating.
