Struthers - Wanda Cichon, 90, of Struthers, died Sunday morning, April 16, 2017 at Maplecrest Nursing Home.
Wanda was born April 18, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of William and Mary Sudol Cichon.
A life-long resident of Youngstown, Wanda attended Wilson High School. She worked for Automatic Sprinkler, Ohio Edison and during World War II she was a welder for Truscon Steel. Wanda was known for her Swiss Steak, homemade dumplings and cupcakes. She was the family historian and also collected Vindicator articles on her favorite local celebrity, Boom Boom Mancini. Wanda enjoyed a good garage sale and finding unique items to bring home. She was a lover of cats and always took in strays. Back in the day, Wanda loved dancing at the Lake Milton Dance Hall at Craigs Beach.
She leaves one sister, Irene Atanasoff of Struthers; two nephews, Thomas (Marilyn) Chako and George Chako all of Struthers; one niece, Renee (John) Bagin of Austintown; a niece by marriage, Judy Chako of Struthers; eight great nieces, Patricia, Elayne, Kim, Kellie, Vickie, Lori, Lisa, and Christine; two great nephews, Nick and George, Jr; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Chako Havrilla; one brother, Stanley Cihon; and one nephew, Frank Chako.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 3:00 pm at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, with Rev. Gary Rozier officiating. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
Friends will be received Thursday from 1:00 until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wanda's family would like to thank the staff of Maplecrest and Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful and loving care they provided to Wanda. They would also like to thank Darla for not only being a great caregiver, but becoming Wanda's sidekick for trips to ice cream and hot dog stands. Their favorite saying was, "Don't get in any trouble without me!"
