Walter C. Okrucky, 75 Poland- Walter C. Okrucky, 75, of 2829 Denver Drive, died Sunday Afternoon at St. Elizabeth Emergency Department. He was born December 4, 1926, in Springfield a son of the late Paul G. and Barbara J. Marshall Okrucky. He was a 1944 graduate of Sprinfield High School, and a lifelong area resident. Mr. Okrucky worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube and as a foreman at Girard Machine until his retirement in 1988, after 20 years of service. He was an active member of the Boardman Baptist Church, where he served in many capacities, as a Sunday school teacher, trustee, and as a deacon. He also enjoyed the outdoors as a hunter and a fisherman. Besides his wife the former Ruth Ann Hofer, whom he married July 7, 1954, he is survived by a daughter: Carol Okrucky of Tuscon, AZ; a son James and daughter-in-law Christia Okrucky of Howland; one sister: Agnes Johnson and brother Paul Okrucky both of Poland. He is preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. A funeral Service will be held Thursday, at 10:30 AM, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call 4-7 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home, and again Thursday from 9: 30 âa�" 10:15 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Boardman Baptist Church in honor of Mr. Okrucky.
