AUSTINTOWN - Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman for Wade W. Smith Sr., 93, who passed away Sunday night at Omni Manor.
Mr. Smith was born April 6, 1918, in Youngstown, a son of Dr. Lamont B. and Sarah Hadnett Smith.
He was a 1937 graduate of Boardman High School and a 1943 Youngstown College graduate. He had been employed by Sheet & Tube Steel Company, retiring as a general supervisor of cost accounting.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, where he served as a flight engineer.
His wife, the former Mary V. McCrone, whom he married August 1947, died in 1984.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the William Farr Lodge F. & A.M. No. 0672.
Surviving him is his son and daughter-in-law Wade and Nancy Smith Jr. of Boardman and grandson Ryan Smith of Boardman.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m., both at the funeral home.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Alzheimer's Association, 3736 Boardman-Canfield Road, P.O. Box 321, Canfield, OH 44406.
