Vivian Marie (Morgan) Henderson

November 7, 1921 — January 30, 2016

Struthers - Vivian Marie Henderson, 94, of Struthers, died Saturday morning at her residence, with her family at her side.

Vivian was born November 7, 1921 in East Palestine, OH, a daughter of Grant and Ella McKee Morgan.

Raised in East Palestine, Vivian was a 1940 graduate of East Palestine High School. During World War II she worked for the Pottery in East Palestine. Vivian married the love of her life, David Henderson, on January 22, 1944 and they made their home in Struthers. Vivian was an active volunteer in the community, a loyal steward of her church, and a wonderful homemaker for her family

She was a member of the Struthers Presbyterian Church now known as Parkside Church. She served as deacon, elder, president of the Women's Association, and was a member of the church choir. In 2010 Vivian was named Mother of the Year by her church. When her daughters were of school age, Vivian was active with the Struthers PTA and the Band Boosters. She remained active with the Boosters' concessions until her health began to fail. She was always present making cotton candy for all the sporting events and the annual Aut Morri Grotto Circus that took place at the Struthers High School Field House.

Vivian was a member of the Struthers Historical Society, Struthers Community Chest, where she served as vice president, Genesa Youngstown Federated Club, Pythian Sisters, Red Hat Society, Friday Night Card Club and the Pinettes bowling team. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and for over 55 years volunteered every Tuesday afternoon, serving lunch to the Struthers Rotary Club. In 2014, Struthers Rotary honored her with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow Award.

Vivian was an avid sports fan. She and her husband were season ticket holders to Struthers Football games. She was a fan of the YSU Penguins and Cleveland Indians.

Every year she and David attended the San Juan Ship Reunion. Together they enjoyed spending summers with family and many friends at Geneva-on-the-Lake.

Vivian leaves two daughters, Vicki DelliQuadri (David Crook) of Liberty, and Candace (Michael) Minchin of Stow, OH and Greensboro, NC; ten grandchildren, Carmine (Stacie) DelliQuadri, Marc, Robert and Vincent DelliQuadri, Lisa (David) Perry, Kelly (Phillip) Hoyme, Amanda (Zach) Carter, Kevin Minchin, Michelle (Clay) Baker and Michael Crook; and ten great-grandchildren, Carmine, Carly, and Marc DelliQuadri, Kaitlyn Cefalde, Lauren and David Perry, twins Mila and Eva Hoyme, William Hoyme, and Isaac Carter.

Besides her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her husband who died March 18, 1994; and one brother, William Morgan.

Vivian's family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care provided by her cousin, Cara Barbato, and her wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, with Pastor James Berkebile officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.

Friends will be received Monday from 4-7:00 PM and Tuesday from 10-10:45 AM at the funeral home.
