Youngstown - Virginia C. Rosensteel, 90, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at her home, at Park Vista Retirement Community.
Virginia was born August 5, 1933 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of the late Ralph and Lena (Boano) Valentino.
She graduated from Lowellville High School and was a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley.
Virginia worked for several aluminum extrusion companies in the area before going to the former Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital aka Cafaro Memorial Hospital. She worked in the housekeeping department for over 17 years, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of St. Christine Church in Youngstown and a member of the Teamsters Union.
Virginia enjoyed bowling and used to be in several bowling leagues. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and going to casinos.
Virginia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed family gatherings and cooking.
Virginia is survived by three sons, Gerald R. Rosensteel of Youngstown, OH, John "Jack" M. Rosensteel of Seminole, FL, and Daniel S. Rosensteel of Treasure Island, FL; four grandchildren, John Rosensteel, Nicholas Rosensteel, Krista Rosensteel, and Dawson Nevins; one great-grandchild, Nicholas Andrew Rosensteel.
Besides her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Valentino; and three sisters, Mary Perot, Rosie Tomko, and Angie Balogh.
Family and friends may call on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main Street in Poland. There will be a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home celebrating Virginia's life.
