Virginia I. Lyden

North Lima- Virginia Irene Lyden, 94, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 21, 2024, at Hospice of the Valley. Born November 10, 1929, Virginia was a lifelong resident of the Poland area. The daughter of the late Steve and Irene (Luteran) Milisky, Virginia lived a long and fulfilling life.

Virginia was a graduate of Poland Seminary High School and a longtime member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church where she had taught catechism classes. She later became a faithful member of Holy Family Parish. Her love for her family, her faith, her friends, and all animals was central to her life. 

Virginia leaves behind three children, Deborah Caracozza of Poland, Ohio, Kathleen Lyden of Sarasota, Florida and Terrence (Tina) Lyden of Dublin, Ohio; five grandchildren, Wesley Sanders, Katie Italiano, Patrick (Courtney) Sanders, Dominic (Sarah) Caracozza, and Rachel Lyden; along with three great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Burgham and Dorothy Pridham.

Virginia’s warmth and love will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Thomas Burkert for his kindness, support, and care shown to our Mother over the years.

Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, followed immediately by a celebration of her life beginning at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Fr. Thomas Ziegler. She will be laid to rest with her parents in Poland Riverside Cemetery.
