Virginia Kovach

Virginia Kovach, 82 POLAND- Virginia Kovach, 82, of 2852 Coblentz Drive died on Mothers Day at her residence after a waning illness. She was born June 30, 1920 in Youngstown a daughter of Michael and Katherine Gayetsky, and has been a resident of Poland since 1958. Mrs. Kovach was a 1939 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. She graduated from Youngstown Hospital School of Nursing in 1943 and was a registered nurse at North and Southside Hospital. She left nursing to raise her two sons, however resumed in 1964 as a private duty nurse. She served on the Board of Directors of Nurses Registry. Virginia was a member of Holy Family Church. She leaves her husband, Joseph, whom she married October 13, 1945. They recently celebrated their 57th anniversary. Joseph is a retired mason foreman from Youngstown Sheet and Tube with 44 years of service. He fought in Europe for 3 ½ years with the United States Armyâa�a��s 82nd Airborne Division. Besides her husband she leaves, two sons, Michael Kovach of Columbus and William (Peggy) Kovach of Houston, TX; one sister, Matilda (Steven) Pipoly of Poland; one brother, Elmer (Viola) Gayetsky of Campbell; five grandchildren, Matt Kovach of Houston, Amy Kovach of Dayton, Brad Kovach of Columbus, PFC Todd Kovach of the United States Marine Corp, Aberdeen, MD, and Megan Kovach of Dayton. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Gayetsky. Funeral Services will be Thursday 10 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
