Poland - Virginia Lee Gbur, 78, died October 7, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Gbur was born March 14, 1938 in Lowellville, a daughter of Mathew and Clara Perry Savon.

She received a certificate in Nursing from Choffin School of Nursing. Virginia was the Assistant Director of Nursing at Ron Joy Nursing Home and Director of Nursing at Sateri Nursing Home, where she worked for 33 years between both facilities. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown. Virginia was a passionate cook, enjoyed baking, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She also enjoyed going to the casinos with her brothers and sister-in-laws.

Her husband Charles J. Gbur Sr., whom she married Nov.6, 1956, died Aug. 12, 2000.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Charles J. (Carolyn) Gbur Jr. of Toledo; one daughter, Lisa (Jim) Moran of Perrysburg; one brother, Felix "Sam" (Christine) Savon of Canfield; and eight grandchildren, Chiara and Matthew Kerr; Jack and Seamus Moran; Alexandria, Charles Gbur, III, Gina, and Delaney Gbur.

Besides her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by an infant son; one grandchild, Michael Gbur, and one brother, Mathew Savon.

A Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 11:00AM at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown.

Friends and family will be received Sunday from 3-6 PM at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland and Monday from 10:00-10:45AM at the church.

Although flowers are beautiful, the family requests donations be made to Magnificent Memories, 5705 Moncolva Rd. Suite 201, Maumee, OH 42537.

This is a scholarship fund in memory of her grandson, Michael Gbur.
