There will be services at 9:30 am Monday at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, and at 10:00 am at Christ Our Savior (St. Nicholas) Church in Struthers for Virginia Carbone, 90, who passed away Thursday at The Woodlands Assisted Living facility, with her daughters at her side.

Virginia was born June 14, 1927, in Belltown, Pa., the daughter of Fillipo and Nicolette Centofanti Ginnetti, and was a lifelong resident of Struthers, recently moving to The Woodlands, Poland.

She was a very devoted wife and mother. Family always came first. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she consistently gave selflessly. She married the love of her life, Eugene, on August 23, 1947, with whom she enjoyed 65 years of marriage until his passing in 2012. She loved listening to ethnic music; her favorites were the Italian tunes. Virginia was an excellent cook. Her family especially enjoyed her wedding soup, ravioli, and graham cracker cake. With her husband she enjoyed the movies behind The Pantry, walks through Struthers, and attending events for the grandchildren. She said her rosary daily, sometimes more than once. She really missed attending mass when her illness prevented her from going. Her friendly nature endeared her to many.

She leaves behind two daughters, Gina Carbone of New Middletown, Joanne (Ron) Eiselstein, of Youngstown, a brother, William Ginnetti of Poland, five grandchildren, Daniel (Sherry) Cunningham and Cody Cunningham of McDonald, Chris Prater of New Middletown, Nick (Melinda) Prater of Dublin, Ireland, Jessica (Will) Franklin of Columbiana, six great-grandchildren, Camden, Sydney, Lillian and Amalia Prater, Wesley and Dane Franklin.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene, daughter, Angela Cunningham, twin infant sons, Eugene and Daniel, sisters Florence Argiro and Jenny Ginnetti, five brothers, Ernest, Arthur, Dante, Donald, and Herman Ginnetti.

Friends may call from 2 to 4pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take place following the funeral mass at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Lowellville.

The requests material contributions take the form of donations to Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nichols, 764 5Th Street, Struthers, Ohio 44471, or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44514.
