Viola L. Modarelli

VIOLA L. MODARELLI âa�" 85 STRUTHERS âa�" Viola L. Modarelli, 85 of Struthers, died Sunday morning at the Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House. Mrs. Modarelli was born June 26, 1921 in Youngstown, a daughter to Martin and Margaret Moore Minicozzi. She was also raised by her step-father, John Restivo. She was a homemaker, and was a 51 year member of the St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. MRs. Modarelli, obtained her GED in 2000, and volunteered for the STAR program for the Youngstown City Schools. She was an avid walker, and enjoyed traveling. Her husband, Anthony Modarelli, Sr., whom she married August 7, 1948, died February 12, 1997. She leaves two daughters, Suzanne (James) Gomochak of Boardman, Gina (Richard) Clautti of Boardman; one son, Anthony (Theresa) Modarelli, Jr., of Struthers, one brother, Vincent (Connie) Restivo of Mt. Pleasant, SC., and seven grandchildren, Deanna (Joseph) Pickel; James (Fiancé Erin Deming) Gomochak; Christopher (Patricia) Clautti, Joseph Clautti; Lisa Clautti, Anthony Modarelli, III; and Nicole Lynn Modarelli. Besides her parents, step-father and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Anthony Restivo, and one sister, Phyllis Ambrosia. Family and friends may call from 5-8 Tuesday evening at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, where prayer services will be held Wednesday at 12 Noon. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 12:30 at the St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. Interment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery.
