Struthers - Viola Mae McClure, 83 of Struthers, died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the Hospice House. Mrs. McClure was born Wednesday, May 20, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Irvin D. & Helen I. Quinton Williams. She was a 1944 Graduate of Struthers High School. Mrs. McClure worked as a Comptometer Operator for Republic Rubber for approximately four years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Poland Village Baptist Church. Member of the Eastern Star, Miriam Chapter; she was very active in cub scouts and was also a den mother, she was a campfire leader for 10 years, and was also a Struthers High School band Booster.. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Phillip "Jay" McClure whom she married April 29, 1949, one daughter. Lynn I. (Charles, Jr.) Deye of Cincinnati; one son, Lawrence D. (Linda) McClure of Struthers, Five grandchildren, Matthew D. (Jessica) McClure of Perrysburg, OH, Bethanne McClure of Athens, OH, Daniel P. McClure of Cuyahoga Falls, Charles A. Deye, III of Cincinnati, and Stephen R. Patek of Cincinnati. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Henry Williams who died in the Battle of Coral Sea in WWII. Funeral services will be held at Poland Village Baptist Church, Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 1:00 with Pastor Michael J. Hooks officiating. Interment will be private Friends will be received 4-7 P.M., Tuesday, July 8 at the at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, and Wednesday from 12:30 - 12:45 at the church.
