Youngstown- Vincetta Marie Rohan, 86, of Brownlee Woods, died Friday morning, August 24, 2012 at Hampton Woods Nursing Center.
Mrs. Rohan was born March 31, 1926 in Wooster, a daughter of Edward and Adeline Zarlengo Lewis.
She was a graduate of Scienceville High School and was a homemaker. A charter and active member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Mrs. Rohan was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, worked its Bingo for many years, and was a member of the St. Luke's Ladies Holiday Bowling League. She also volunteered for the Board of Elections, working the polls.
Her husband, Michael Rohan Sr., whom she married June 9, 1951, died April 9, 1985.
She will always be missed and loved forever by her son, Michael (Machelle) Rohan Jr. of Brownlee Woods; two sisters, Phyllis (John) Spagnola of Poland and Shirley Lewis of Poland; and two brothers, Benny (Erla) Lewis of Hubbard and Edward Lewis of Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Rohan; sister, Dorothy Evans; and two brothers, Harry and Lester Lewis.
A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m at St. Luke Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Fata officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rohan's son would like to send a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Robert G. Spratt and his associates for the many years of taking care of Vinnie and also to the entire staff of Hampton Woods Nursing Center for the best quality care imaginable. Also, a special thanks to Deacon Bob Redig for being there spiritually for Vinnie.
