Poland - Victoria Marie Murdoch, 59, of Poland, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at her home after a short battle with cancer. She was born December 21, 1948 in Youngstown, a daughter of Dr. Victor and Rose Marie DeMichele Balmenti. A 1967 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, Mrs. Murdoch went on to receive her bachelorâa�a��s degree in education from Youngstown State University. She formerly was an elementary teacher at St. Edward's School, an officer and secretary of the J.W. Murdoch and Sons, and had worked for Dr. Phillip Balmenti. Mrs. Murdoch was a member of Holy Family Church. She leaves her husband, John "Jack" Murdoch, whom she married July 6, 1974; two daughters, Christina Gilstrap of Atlanta, Georgia and Jacqueline Murdoch of Pittsburgh; her mother; a sister, Rita Balmenti-Creed; a brother, Dr. Phillip Balmenti, all of Boardman; and two grandsons, Garrett and Gavin Gilstrap of Atlanta. A Memorial mass will be held at Holy Family Church Friday, December 28th at 10 a.m. with Father Chris Luoni officiating. The family asks that material tributes be made in the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, OH 44514.
