Victor A. Verbanovic, 70 New Middletown- Victor A. Verbanovic, 70, of 10425 Struthers Rd., died Wednesday evening at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. Mr. Verbanovic was born July 29, 1931 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Michael and Danica (Daisy) Magdic Verbanovic. He moved to Struthers from McKeesport in 1947 and to New Middletown in 1979. He was an autoworker for General Motors Assembly Plant. He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle in New Middletown and a former member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. He graduated from Clariton High School and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was an avid Pittburgh Steeler Fan. Besides his wife the former Margaret A. Holby whom he married November 14, 1955, he leaves a daughter Victoria and son-in-law Gilbert Chalfant of New Middletown; a son Michael and daughter-in-law Amy Verbanovic of New Springfield; three sisters, Sylvia Sellan, Mary Mance and Wilma Kocis all of Clariton, Pennsylvania; a brother Daniel Verbanovic of Pittsburgh and five grandchildren, Sharon and Megan Chalfant, Nichole Sims and Cole and Clara Verbanovic. Preceding in death are three sisters, Irene Maricic, Pauline Ignaczak and Olga Lukart. Funeral services will be Saturday, 12:00 Noon at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 12:30 PM at St. Nicholas Church, Struthers.
