Youngstown - Ulrike Matilda "Ricky" Black, 81, passed away on December 20, 2024 at her home. 

She was born February 20, 1943 in Bridel, Germany, a daughter of the late John and Matilda (Gibbert) Fanz.

Ricky was a selfless caretaker and was the epitome of putting others first. As a health care aide, she devoted her life to ensuring the comfort, dignity, and well-being of her patients. She offered not just medical care but emotional support and a steady presence for those who needed it most. She had an uncanny ability to make others feel valued, often setting aside her own needs to prioritize theirs.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Robert J. Black of Olympia, WA and Paul (Lori) Black of FL; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, and Ryan Black; her sister, Regina Carrol; as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Black; and a brother, Mumford Fanz.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
