Tony D. Ambrosia âa�" 92 LOWELLVILLE âa�"Tony D. Ambrosia, 92, of New Castle Rd., died Sunday morning at the Liberty Health Care Center. Mr. Ambrosia was born July 24, 1915 in Guardia Lombardi, Italy, a son of Ralph and Rose Cipriano Ambrosia. He came to the United States in 1922 with his family. He was a member of Our Lady of Holy Rosary Church. Mr. Ambrosia was a World War II Army Veteran and received the American Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victor Medal, and the EAME Theater Ribbon. He worked for 40 years for Republic Steel as a crane operator before his retirement in 1974. Mr. Ambrosia enjoyed gardening and watching all sports. Mr. Ambrosia leaves his wife of 67 years, the former Rose Polas, whom he married on November 16, 1940; one son, Paul (Darlene) Ambrosia of Hubbard; two sisters, Theresa (Steve) Kondas of Canfield and Frances (Sam) Pompeo of California; and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Beatrice Ambrosia; three brothers, Rocco, Angelo and Mike Ambrosia; and two sisters, Rose Storti and Ann Sauline. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville, where a prayer service will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
