Thomas J. "Snag" Rouzzo
Poland - Thomas J. Rouzzo, 77, of Poland, formerly of Struthers, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, June 10, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Tom was born May 9, 1938 in Struthers, a son of Peter and Rose Corvino Rouzzo.
A 1957 graduate of Struthers High School, Tom worked in receiving at McKay Machine and later Wean United for over 28 years. After retiring from Wean United he worked side by side with his wife Diane as an Administrator Assistant for Tiny Tots Day Care in Struthers. Tom also liked to buy and sell antiques.
Tom enjoyed traveling to Canada, Geneva on the Lake, antiquing, and playing the slot machines. In his younger days, Tom played baseball for McKay Machine where he proudly earned the name "Snag". Tom's greatest joys in life were his family. He loved being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Most recently he loved watching his great-grandson play football for the Struthers Wildcats. Last but not least, Tom loved his best friend, his four legged buddy, "Gabby".
Tom's wife, the former Diane Carlucci, whom he married February 7, 1986 died February 28, 2013. Tom is survived by his son, Thomas Rouzzo, Jr. of Struthers; daughter, Denise (Don) Broll of Poland; step-children, Denise (Jim) Mayhew of Poland and John Christopher of Struthers; seven grandchildren, Angie Broll and her fiancee, Drew, Sheree and Natalie Broll, Thomas and Maria Rouzzo, Deanna and Jenna Musser; two great-grandchildren, Robbie Best and Carson Fisher; four brothers, Joseph "Duke" Rouzzo of Youngstown, Robert "Bo" (Dorothy) Rouzzo of Wellsville, John (Betty) Rouzzo of Girard, and James (Donna) Rouzzo of New Waterford.
Besides his parents and loving wife, Tom was preceded in death by his infant daughter Sheree and his brother, Dominic Rouzzo.
Private funeral services were held Saturday at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
