Thomas M. Mascarella

Thomas M. Mascarella, 65, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, June 28, 2017 at his residence after a six month battle with cancer.

Tom was born April 30, 1952 in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Mary Muscatell Mascarella.

Raised in Briar Hill, Tom was a 1970 graduate of The Rayen School. He was a skilled laborer, working as a welder for William B. Pollock Company and later construction for Alcor and Consolidated Construction Companies.

Tom loved the outdoors, fishing in the morning and riding his motorcycle in the evening. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his nieces and nephews. He came home every Sunday for dinner and to play a game of cards. In his younger years Tom was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Youngstown.

Tom leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Mary of Lowellville; two brothers, David and George Mascarella, both of Lowellville; one sister, Margaret Cunningham also of Lowellville; nieces and nephews, Margaret, Katie, Rocco, David and Ashtyn; great nieces and nephew, Sabrina, Devon, Angelina, Alivia and Louis; and his dogs whom he loved, Bruno and Echo.

In addition to his father, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Mascarella; grandparents, Joseph and Minnie Muscatell and Rocco and Venerina Mascarella; and sister-in-law, Sherry Mascarella .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville with Fr. Larry Frient officiating. Interment will follow at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.

Friends will be received Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Lowellville, where a Prayer Service will be conducted Monday at 9:30 a.m.
