Struthers - Thomas E. Jones, 84, died Sunday evening, June 1, 2014 at his residence.

Thomas was born February 20, 1930 in Youngstown, a son of Thomas S. and Blanch Parker Jones.

He was a 1949 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and after graduation, he began working for Youngstown Sheet and Tube. He was later drafted into the United States Army, serving in Japan during the Korean War. Upon his return home, Thomas began working for Henderson-Johnson as a plasterer and then lathe operator at Wean United. He did maintenance for Bethlehem Lutheran Church for over 5 years and St. John's Episcopal Church for over 15 years, retiring in 2005.

Thomas was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Youngstown.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Emma Hallewell, whom he married December 17,1960; two daughters, Jennifer Jones of Struthers, Carole (Mark) Myers of Vandalia; a brother, James (Jane) Jones of McDonald; a sister, Blanche Barnhizer of Poland; a sister-in-law, Mary Hallewell of Poland; two grandchildren, Mick J. Myers and Carly Myers; 20 nieces and nephews, Bill Hallewell, Sue Hallewell, Heidi (Bruce) Hansen, Jason (Kelly) Hallewell, Luanne (Bob Liller ) Murray, Betty Creatore, Ruthie (Jim) Stanley, Debbie Sides, Donna (Cecil) Conkle, Dana Bradley,Thomas A. (Mary Ellen) Jones, James S. (Jo Marie) Jones, David (Sue) Barnhizer, Bret Barnhizer, Bruce (Mary Ellen) Barnhizer, Brian (Stephanie) Barnhizer, Barry (Sonyia) Barnhizer, Ralph (Janet) Durbin, Richard Durbin, David (Shelly) Durbin; 30 great-nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his son, Thomas S. Jones; brother, Raymond F. Jones; and two sisters, Mildred Bradley and Florence Durbin.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 28th at St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44503. Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers is handling the arrangements.

The family would like to thank MVI Hospice nurses and his wonderful aids, Jacinda and Najiah for their excellent care and compassion.
