Thomas E. Clark, 66
NEW MIDDLETOWN - Thomas E. Clark, 66, passed away on Sept. 1, 2015.
"Tom" was born Sept. 3, 1948, in Youngstown, to Blair and Margaret Fidram Clark.
He was a 1966 graduate of Boardman High School. While he would have rather been fishing, Tom spent his life devoted to his family, strong work ethic and faith. He worked at General Fireproofing and Syro Steel and retired from Parker Hannifin in January of 2013. Tom was a long-standing member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon and was on the Annual Book Sale committee. In his spare time, he also enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He leaves behind many handcrafted treasures that he made for his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, the former Beth Bagwell, whom he married on June 8, 1996; his children, Thomas (Amy) Clark of Boston, Dennis (Michelle) Clark of Herndon, Va., Jason (Kara) Clark of Youngstown, Erin (Tim) Griffin of Raleigh, N.C., Marc Drummond of Cleveland, and Carrie Drummond of Raleigh; eight grandchildren, Sydney and Aly Clark, Kaitlyn and Lillian Clark, Andy and Julia Clark, and Beckett and Holden Griffin; three brothers, Don (Linda) Clark of Boardman, Jerry Clark of Boardman, and Larry (Peg) Clark of Avon Park, Fla.
Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Clark; and sister Martha Mullaly.
A memorial service will be held at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. in Boardman, Saturday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Joachim officiating.
Friends and family will be received on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to give special thanks to Tom's anonymous stem cell donor who gave Tom the gift of seeing three new grandchildren born during the past two years. The family is also especially grateful for the staff of the Stem Cell Transplant Unit at Seidman Cancer Center and Hospice of the Valley for their excellent care.
