Theodore Barney, 86 Poland- Theodore Barney, 86 of 6252 Diana Drive died Wednesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Mr. Barney was born September 30, 1915 in California, Pennsylvania, a son of Gregory Harry and Mary Krynak Barney. He moved to this area in 1955. He received his electrical and chemical engineering degrees in 1939 from Penn State University. He was an engineer for the engineering and construction division of the Kopper Company in Pittsburgh for 13 years. He then worked at the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Coke Plant retiring as Superintendent in 1971 after 13 years. From 1971 until 1980 he was a consultant for the Arthur G. McKee Company in Cleveland. He was a member of the Boardman Christian Church where he served as a Deacon. He was president for the Eastern States Blast Furnaces and Coke Oven Association from 1966-1967. His first wife the former Lavada Todd whom he married November 18, 1955 died February 15, 1992. Besides his second wife, the former Juanita Frederick whom he married December 8, 1994, he leaves three sisters, Mildred and Joyce Barney both of Richeyville, Pennsylvania, Eve Sheetz of Woodstock, Virginia and one brother, John Barney of Hagerstown, Maryland. Two sisters Olga Barney and Judy Strickland preceded him in death. Funeral Services will be Saturday, 2:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where friends may call Saturday from 12:45 until 1:45 PM.
