Struthers - Thelma L. Kifer, 83, of Struthers, died Sunday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Mrs. Kifer was born February 16, 1926 in Clarion County, Pa, a daughter of Frank and Dorothy Varner Finefrock.
She attended Sligo High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Struthers Church of Christ and the Struthers Historical Society. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and totally devoted to her family. Her favorite pastime was crocheting afghans for her grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Fred Kifer, Sr., whom she married May 4, 1943, she leaves one daughter, Louanne (David) Smith of Struthers; three sons, Fred (Marie) Kifer, Jr. of Boardman, Dean (Barbara) Kifer of Canfield, and Timothy (Colleen) Kifer of Struthers; one sister, Charlotte (Leroy) Lewis of AL; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by one son, Andrew Kifer; and two brothers, Quay and Dean Finefrock.
Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Interment will follow at the Sligo Cemetery in Sligo, Pa.
Friends will be received Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
