Terry L. Sierp

October 15, 1949 — March 15, 2011

Poland Terry Lee Sierp, 61, of Poland, beloved son, husband and friend, passed away Tuesday morning.

Terry was born October 15, 1949 in Seymour, IN, a son of Clifford and Kathryn Terkhorn Sierp.

A 1967 graduate of Seymour High School, Terry received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Indiana University in 1971. His carreer began as an auditor, and then became comptroller at Taylor Smith and Taylor Pottery in Newell, W.V. He later was employed as comptroller and general manager for Shenanngo China in New Castle, before joining Moderne Glass in Hopewell, PA in 1992. While at Moderne Glass, Terry was in charge of inventory, and over the years made 20 trips to the largest trade show in China.

Terry met his wife, the former Barbara Jordan, an English/Spanish teacher at Poland Seminary High School on a blind date arranged by Bill Snyder, a chemistry teacher. They were married June 25, 1983. Together, they were members of Poland Village Baptisit Church where Terry was the organist and treasurer.

Along with Barbara, Terry enjoyed planning trips and traveling throughout the United States and Europe with family. Their favorite parts of the country were the mountains, especially Colorado, New England, the Northwest and the Canadian Rockies. They visited Alaska twice, once by small cruise, the second time, on their own with family members by rented van. Their travels introduced Terry and Barbara to nature and many wonderful experiences.

At home, Terry loved southern gospel music and was a big fan of the Poland Bulldogs.

Terry will be remembered as a very generous, kind man who reached out to anyone and everyone.

Besides his parents, Clifford and Kathryn, of Seymour, IN., Terry leaves his wife, Barbara; one sister, Denise Sierp of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Greg Sierp of Phoenix, AZ; his mother-in-law, Helen Jordan of Poland; brother-in-law, Thomas and Audry Jordan of Canfield; two nieces, Alexandra Sierp and Jill Jordan Jaeger; and four nephews, Tyler Sierp, Nathan Jordan, and David and Robert Keeler.

Terry was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Lester Jordan, and his sister-in-law, Rebecca Keeler.

Services will be Monday, 11:00 AM at the Poland Village Baptist Church, with Pastor Brian Ethridge and Pastor Michael Hooks officiating. Interment will follow at the Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Friends will be received Sunday from 3-6 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM Monday at the church.
