Teresa Incoronata Kollar, 67, of Canfield, passed away Thursday morning, February 20, 2014 surrounded by her family.
Teresa was born April 28, 1946 in Pacentro, Province of L'Aquila, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Nicola Francesco and Adele DiCicco DiPillo.
In 1956, at the age of 10, Teresa immigrated with her family from Italy to the United States ultimately residing in Youngstown, Ohio. She grew up on Youngstown's South Side graduating from South High School in 1965.
After high school, Teresa worked at Livingston's, a women's clothing boutique in the Boardman Plaza for several years until becoming a wife and mother. A proud homemaker, Teresa's main priorities were her husband, children, and grandchildren. Teresa treasured her Italian roots but loved and embraced all things American. She shared her Italian heritage and traditions cooking and baking Italian specialties for family and friends. She found joy and happiness in decorating, fashion, and photography.
She leaves her husband, Thomas H. Kollar whom she married September 14, 1968; three children: Jennifer T. Kollar of Canfield, Mark T. (Heather) Kollar and Todd T. (Holly) Kollar all of Poland; grandchildren, Seth, Evan, Jeffery, Ryan, and Lauren Kollar; sisters, Anna Lalama of Boardman, Amelia (Martin) LoPresti of Fountain Hills, AZ, Silvana Seeger of Austintown, Diana DiPillo of Scottsdale, AZ; and one brother, James (Kimberlee) DiPillo of Austintown.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 AM at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman with Reverend Dr. David Gilbert officiating. Entombment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
