Poland - Teresa DiPaola (DePaul), 96, formerly of Struthers, died Wednesday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Teresa was born March 15, 1916 in Youngstown, a daughter of Archangelo and Philomena (Bernard) D'Angelo. She was raised in Youngstown and moved to Struthers in 1949.
A 1935 graduate of East High School, Teresa was a homemaker and also worked as a registrar for the Bursar's Office of Youngstown State University for 16 years, retiring in 1981.
Teresa enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, traveling extensively with her husband and family, and reading, especially mystery novels. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers and St. Anthony's Ladies Auxiliary.
Her husband, Felix DiPaola, whom she married July 11, 1936, died October 14, 1996. She leaves three daughters, Rosemarie (Thomas) Vasvari of Struthers, Antoinette (James) Jordan and Cynthia (Nicholas) Cerimele, both of Boardman; six grandchildren, Michael Jordan, David (Lisa) Jordan, Atty. Thomas M. (Christine) Vasvari, Karin Vasvari, Nicholas P. Cerimele, and Dr. Joseph (Dr. Melissa Bender) Cerimele; and three great-grandchildren, Thomas D. Vasvari, Amanda Vasvari, and David J. Jordan.
Besides her parents and husband, Teresa was preceded in death by her infant son, Felix DiPaola; and two brothers, John and Armand D'Angelo.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 11:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
