Colorado Springs - Susanna Botsko Palan, 99, formerly of Struthers, died October 7, 2013 at the Union Printers Home in Colorado Springs, CO.
Mrs. Palan was born December 24, 1913 in Donora, PA, daughter of John and Mary Sekerak Botsko. She was a homemaker and lived in Struthers from the age of three, before moving to Colorado over 20 years ago.
Susanna was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.
Her husband, John, whom she married Sept. 2. 1939, died March 22, 1990.
She survived by one son, John (Kristina) Palan of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister, Helen Marconi of Poland, OH; two brothers, Edward "Charlie" Botsko of Youngstown and Jim Botsko of Galatan, TN; three grandchildren, Nicolas Palan, Natalie Palan, and Sharon Douglas; and two great-grandchildren, Geoffrey Galida and Autumn Douglas.
Besides her parents and husband, Susanna was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Sue Galida; two sisters: Mary Klesch and Infant Anna Botsko; five brothers: Stephen, John, Joseph "Curly", William and Andrew Botsko; one grandchild, Stephen Galida; and one great grandchild, Infant Hatti May Galida.
A Panachida Service will be Saturday at 9:15 AM at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10AM at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, with Fr. Christopher R. Burke officiating. Interment will follow in the St Michael's Cemetery in Campbell.
Friends and family will be received Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home, where the will be a Parastas Service will be at 6:30PM
