Shelbyville - Susan Hope Birch Wynne, 46, of Shelbyville, Indiana, formerly of Struthers, died Friday afternoon on May 25, 2012 at her residence, after a 21/2 year battle with cancer.
Susan was born July 11, 1965 in Youngstown, a daughter of Paul and Sally Hope Birch.
A 1985 graduate of Struthers High School, Susan received her certificate in child care from Mahoning County Joint Vocational School. After graduation, Susan worked for Spring Fresh Cleaning in this area. She later moved to Georgia and began her career with horses by working in the horse stables. While living in Georgia, Susan met and married her husband, Jack Wynne. They were married July of 2005 and in 2007 moved to Shelbyville, Indiana. In Indiana Susan worked as a horse trainer for Indiana Downs.
Susan will be remembered for her compassion for others. A kind and caring person, Susan was always willing to help people. If she knew of someone who did not have plans for the holidays, Susan made sure there was room for them at her home. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Besides her parents, Susan leaves her husband Jack of Shelbyville; three sisters, Linda Mountford of Struthers, Kathy (Bill) Mason of Hawkinsville, GA, and Terry (Don) Sumner of Orlando, FL; one brother, P. Richard (Nancy) Birch of New Middletown; three nieces, Kristen (Mike) Fox and Lauren Birch, both of New Middletown, and Courtney Mountford of Struthers; a nephew Patrick Birch of Boardman; and one great-nephew, Landon Fox.
Besides her grandparents, Jim and Helen Hope and Guy and Kate Birch, Susan was preceded in death by her brother, James Birch.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, 3:00 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Rev. Thomas Fennell officiating.
Friends will be received Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
