Susan A. Hilliard

Poland - Susan A. Hilliard, 73, died early Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 at Hospice of the Valley's, Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

Susan was born March 3, 1943 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late John and Susie Ann Sepelak Kuzma.

Raised in Youngstown, she was a 1961 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Youngstown State University. Susan worked most of her career in Guest Services and Housekeeping at St. Elizabeth Health Center, retiring in 2008 after 25 years of service.

She was a member of Poland United Methodist Church.

In her free time, Susan enjoyed entering sweepstakes, cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates, cross-stitching, knitting, playing computer games, and tending to her rose bushes.

Susan is survived by her husband, David M. Hilliard, whom she married February 14, 1974; two sons, Patrick Pivarnik of Poland and Matthew Hilliard of Poland; daughter, Kelly Laurie of North Royalton; two brothers, David (Sue) Kuzma of Youngstown and John (Ann) Kuzma of Mankato, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Brandon Pivarnik of Berlin Center, Hope (Paul) Limer of Jacksonville, NC and Gary Laurie of North Royalton.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
